Automation and AI

25 Feb 2019, 14:30 - 16:00

Room 33BC

As artificial intelligence and automation become increasingly more prevalent in ocean exploration, this session will explore advances that have taken place that improve the efficiency of image analysis across multiple applications, including classification of plankton and creating 3D models of subsea structures.  Virtual Reality microscopes to classify and measure phytoplankton blooms are also presented.  The session ends with a review of the trends in data transformation and analytics necessary to develop deeper knowledge of time series data sets.
